Director of AI Engineering — Gifthealth¶
April 2026 — Present
Leading the development and strategy of AI-powered systems across pharmacy operations, customer experience, and healthcare workflows at a PE-backed digital pharmacy platform serving millions of patients nationwide. Responsible for building and scaling the AI engineering function — including production ML systems, agentic workflows, NLP, predictive modeling, and intelligent automation — in a HIPAA-regulated environment where safety, explainability, and compliance are first-order requirements. Partnering directly with the CTO and executive leadership to define near-term execution and long-term AI strategy across the organization.
Three Strategic Fronts¶
1. Enterprise & Pharmacy Logistics¶
Applying AI to optimize pharmacy operations, supply chain, and fulfillment workflows at scale. Focus areas include demand forecasting, intelligent routing, inventory optimization, and operational automation — driving efficiency gains across the logistics backbone that supports millions of prescriptions.
2. AI Intelligence Platform¶
Architecting the core AI platform layer: deep agentic systems with self-improving capabilities, robust guardrail mechanisms, human-in-the-loop orchestration, and scalable evaluation frameworks. Building on a graph-first architecture from day one — integrating EHR, provider, drug, and digital pharmacy data into knowledge graph backends (Neo4j) that power intelligent retrieval, reasoning, and decision support across the organization.
3. Customer Experience Agency¶
Deploying AI systems to deliver the highest-resolution, most scalable patient and customer interactions — from intelligent triage and automated resolution to personalized engagement. Building agentic CX workflows that maintain quality and compliance at scale while dramatically improving response time and patient satisfaction.
